About AFaMR
The Birth of AFaMR
PURPOSEThe American Foreclosure and Mortgage Relief Foundation [AFaMR] was created when CEO Roberta Hahn began receiving unusual phone calls from families facing foreclosure, while working with a homeless elimination not-for-profit entity. She discovered that the large number of new callers were in fact families asking for mortgage assistance. These callers were people who needed to pay their mortgage payments but could not do so as a result of financial difficulties. These difficulties most commonly involved were from the spiraling effects of the current economical crisis, medical hardship or job loss from company downsizing and/or bankruptcy. Further research indicated that many families were being devastated by the hardships brought on by foreclosure. Suicide and divorce has increased as a consequence of those faced with the reality of foreclosure. It is certain that financial misfortune has truly taken an extreme toll on Americans throughout the country.
The birth of AFaMR came from hearing firsthand the despair of Americans experiencing the crisis of our economy. Roberta Hahn combined many years of experience with not-for-profits, fund-raising, and producing large events and created AFaMR and Rock The House Tour, raising funds for Americans. Her vision has touched many other leaders in the not-for-profit community, which resulted in partnering with a very renowned and credible Nationwide Association, Partnership For Home Ownership (PFHO) to financially manage and oversee all accounting practices, policies and procedures. They have been chosen for Hope Award’s, due to their fiduciary program and Grant application process, which has assisted Rural and low income American families with purchasing homes. Now they are assisting families facing foreclosure as well. Together we will continue to reach out to families across the Nation. Helping families faced with foreclosure.

Borrowers will be able to communicate with their lenders and potentially refinance their mortgages in ways that work without damaging their credit and causing future financial difficulty.AFaMR and PFHO have developed a beneficial plan to reach out in the areas of foreclosure and mortgage relief. Our goal is to reduce foreclosure by providing credit counseling and educational tools for potential mortgage and loan modification opportunities to the households in need through PFHO and other not-for-profit entities. We will produce a series of profitable concerts that will raise millions of dollars to keep Americans in their homes and out of foreclosure. AFaMR will eliminate, evaluate, educate, and inspire other Americans to support positive change in our economy.
We have developed a significant marketing campaign that will bring awareness to the Foreclosure and Mortgage crisis. Our contacts with music promoters from both east and west coast markets are supportive of our efforts and will assist in promoting AFaMR with a series of concerts in 11 of the most severely affected real estate markets in the country.
Initial interest has already been shown by major musician groups which have national and international recognition. These musician groups have been contacted by our partner promoters in both the east and west coast.
Ongoing discussions with these promoters have assured us of the quick ability to gather musician support for this cause.
Our timeline to deploy the series of concerts around the nation will take place late summer / early fall 2010.
